In celebration of the Bayer Center’s 20th anniversary in 2020 – and in partnership with you, our strong, vibrant nonprofit partners – we invite you to participate in a one-day Flash SkillShare event.
This event will be held on April 28, 2020 at RMU’s Yorktown Hall, with 20 corporate teams and 20 nonprofits working to address and design possible solutions to key issues through your work. A Clear Vision for the Pittsburgh Concert Chorale
Pittsburgh Concert Chorale, an all-volunteer, auditioned ensemble, has existed since 1985 to expand the reach of the musical arts in the greater Pittsburgh area. Their board president Ada Dierker was interested in taking a few summer classes at the Bayer Center when she stumbled upon the BoardsWork! program. Knowing that the PCC board was in need of some formal board education, she reached out to gather more information for her board and eventually signed them up to participate. [Read more…]

When Linda DeBor set foot in the Covestro Center offices to tell her story, she brought with her pages of handwritten notes and decades-old photographs that meant very much to her. She called friends, family members, and colleagues, gathering detailed information to prepare.

BoardsWork! and “Herding Cats”
Historic Harmony, a nonprofit committed to preserving and promoting public knowledge of the Harmony area’s history and heritage through its museum and outreach activities, came to BoardsWork! with a plan. As a board they wanted to strengthen the organization’s financial security, build and sustain high-performing committees, and grow and diversify its fundraising capacity – all while keeping board members engaged, on task, and united in their mission.
