Skills-Based Volunteering (SBV) creates opportunities for organizational growth. It encourages a sense of community and engagement between businesses and nonprofit organizations. Trained consulting teams of three or four employees apply their business expertise to a specific challenge that a nonprofit needs to solve. They work together, stimulating cross-functional and organizational relationships.
By participating in Skills-Based Volunteering, organizations:
- Tackle business roadblocks in twelve weeks and receive tangible results
- Build tactical relationships with business partners to successfully use high-skilled volunteers
- Can take advantage of discounted educational and training opportunities at the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management, invitations to exclusive CIE events, and publicity in various media outlets
“Through this program, Ward Home has a new, effective storytelling method to raise awareness of our mission by allowing our at-risk foster teens an opportunity to tell their stories in a video.”
– Executive Director Daryl Lucke speaks about the direct impact of Skills-Based Volunteering.
